Artists

Liane Aung was born and raised in Southern California and is currently located in Seattle, WA where she finished her sixth season with Seattle’s Contemporary Dance Company, Whim W’Him. Throughout her career Liane has had the opportunity to perform and collaborate in original creations with Joseph Hernandez, Ihsan Rustem, Maurya Kerr, Yin Yue, Miceala Taylor, Rena Butler, Penny Saunders, Banning Bouldin, Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, Danielle Agami, Brendan Duggan, Zoe Scofield and Sidra Bell amongst others. 

Liane’s freelance career includes collaborations with Yin Yue Dance Company YYDC, Erica Essner Performance Co-Op, founding member of Seattle Dance Collective SDC, KT Neihoff, Entity Contemporary Dance Company, Schoen Movement Company and FLOCKworks. 

In Southern California, five seasons were spent dancing with Backhausdance where Liane performed original works by Artistic Director Jenny Backhaus.  

Liane is a graduate from the University of California, Irvine receiving her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance and minoring in Digital Arts. She had the honor to perform and learn legendary works from the late Donald McKayle.
